We said goodbye to the sweet summatime the same way we welcomed it in, at my parent's beach house on Figure 8 Island. It has been such a magical summer, filled with friends, family, lots of cocktails and beach time. While this weekend wasn't exactly relaxing, my brother can be every bit as loud as my nephew, it was a wonderful time to celebrate the end to an amazing summer. I also learned a valuable lesson last weekend, there are some things that just can't be changed, so you can either suck it up or remove yourself from the situation. I've come to the conclusion that I just have to remove myself from the situation. I was also reminded of two wonderful Southern phrases that have been used by my favorites, aka my mama, aunties and grandmother, "You just can't hide crazy" and "Well bless your heart." I hope y'all had a wonderful ending to a fun summer!
Now that's exactly how you should say goodbye to summer!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a beautiful weekend, wow, love the pictures!
ReplyDeleteAnd you are right, you can't hide crazy. The smartest thing to do is leave the situation for sure. I had to do it once and it was one of the better decisions I made. Hope it all works out.
I really like the blue dress you had on.
