Crushed It

I had an ahmazingly chill weekend in Charlotte this weekend.  Friday afternoon was spent with at a family friends house and her adorable granddaughter Braxton.  Braxton and her friend put on a show for me and preceded to belt out Taylor Swifts, "I knew you were trouble" over and over again, such fun mini divas!  To top off that performance, my friends and I headed to the Visualite to see Will Hoge perform.....killer voice!!  Saturday, my friend Erin and I crushed Crowder's Mountain.  A total of 6.4 glut toning, leg shaking miles.  It was a beautiful fall day with not a cloud in the sky, to say we felt victorious is an understatement.  The perfect weekend to kick off the month of myself....cheers friends to a successful week!

Cozy Weekend

Fall has definitely made it's crisp presence known in North Carolina.  I'm looking forward to a weekend of relaxing with friends, hopefully getting a hike in to see the beautiful changing leaves and to just be cozy in delicious fall clothes.  The Civil Wars are one of my favorite bands and their new single, "Dust to Dust" makes me relax and just be.  The poetry of the lyrics and harmonizing of their voices make it the perfect song for my fall weekend.  I hope everyone has a wonderful, relaxing weekend!

Musings

This little girl reminds me so much of myself, a girlie girl, carefree, princess at heart and a dreamer.  I am a person that gives my all to whatever I am doing, but especially to my friends and family.  Half the time I have to force myself to step back, to not take on so much, to not volunteer and specifically to not over-commit myself.  I have been majorly over-commiting myself in every aspect, I need to remind myself to slow down, to focus on myself and to not stress that everything has to be perfect.  I am officially kicking off the month of myself, I am going to do what I want to do (within reason, I am an adult after all), not over commit myself (fingers crossed, mom I know you are laughing because you know me too well) and take a breath.  I have been going non-stop and yes it has all mostly been doing fun things, but it is time to burrow in and just chill.  Wish me luck friends!!!

P.S. Obvi I will still be blogging...duh!!

Weekend Happenings

I went to Greensboro Friday to try on my bridesmaid dress for my bestie Kippy's wedding and to hang out with the cutest boy around, my nephew M3.  It was such a relaxing afternoon, filled with belly laughs, tummy time on the floor and a massive dirty diaper that had Mama Jill or Mimi in stitches since I was the one changing it-she swears it was a group effort, but she made the changing a lot harder by making me laugh so hard!  Saturday Mama Jill and I went to see Kippy's wedding dress fitting, Mama Jill may or may not have decided she should work at Diva's and just give every bride her opinion whether they ask for it or not....although she has picked out two of my best friends dresses so far!  Saturday afternoon the whole fam minus M3 headed to Virginia for my cousins wedding.  It was raining on the drive up and rained basically the entire time for the outdoor wedding.  The bride was gorgeous and Papa M gallantly drove us home for a family dinner.  Sunday, Mama Jill and I headed to Charlotte for the Junior League of Charlotte's annual Lights! Camera! Fashion!  One of our largest fundraisers, a fashion show at Belk with VIP shopping, giveaways and bubbly champagne, it was a glamorous evening finished with Mama Ricotta's delish spaghetti and turkey meatballs-yummm!

Papa M had to have sweet tarts for the road trip!

My Mama and Daddy-such a cute couple...LOVES!

Friday.....

After the whole gross MTV movie awards stunt I'm not the biggest Miley Cyrus fan, but I do love her new song "Wrecking Ball."  I love it even more that I don't have to witness Miley naked on the wrecking ball in this beautiful video featuring Mumford and Sons, "Little Lion Man" instrumentals in the background and professional dancers, thanks to my cousin Kellie for sharing this!!!  Have a wonderful weekend!  Shocker, I'm headed to a wedding this weekend.....one day I'll be able to stay in town and thoroughly enjoy doing NOTHING!

I Gave My All to Tennessee....all weekend long!

Last Friday, I packed my bags and headed through the mountains to Knoxville, Tennessee for the big Tennessee-Georgia game.  I swung by the airport to pick up my friend Sarah and we kicked off the weekend right, drinking at our old stomping grounds in the Old City.  It was a nostalgic walk down memory lane, we ended Friday at Cool Beans on the strip and caught up with our Pi Phi sister Tori.  Saturday was bright and early, thank you Lord for the hangover patches we wore!  For some god awful reason we decided to walk from the Old City to the Strip, a 5 mile minimum hike in 88 degree heat, let's just say it's ahmazing how fast you can go from super cute to super gross in 5 minutes flat in that kind of heat!  The stadium was packed, so thankful that Sarah snagged us great tickets for the game.  There is nothing like a Tennessee game, the traditions, the fans, the orange and the aura just make it such a magical experience!  Sarah and I screamed our heads off, sang Rocky Top about twenty times and cheered on our VOLS.  We didn't win the game, but our VOLS finally showed up and played their hearts out!  All in all it was a fantastic weekend with friends and lots of orange!
Hey Blurry, but had to post-Pi Phi Sistahs!!! This would be BEFORE Sarah dropped her iphone....

Love Smokey...Old City
Jig and Reel-Such a great bar, nothing but country music!!!

Sweating our hearts out for Tennessee!!!

Magic In the Air

Happy October!  There seems to be magic brewing in the air, I want to do nothing but dance around and drink warm apple cider and just be.  I am headed to Tennessee to see my best friend and sorority sistah Sarah and of course go to the Tennessee-Georgia game, GO VOLS!  Enjoy Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow singing, "If you ever did believe" from one of my favorite movies, Practical Magic.  Everyone have a magical weekend!!

Plum Pretty Sugar

Y'all are in for a delicious find of mine, Plum Pretty Sugar.  This website not only has a little bit of everything, but it has my favorite thing feminine jammies.  The print options are out of this world, love all the pink tones and the prices are right!  I discovered this line through a friend in Tennessee and then low and behold my bestie Kippy was wearing an adorbs pair her bachelorette weekend, which solidifies that I definitely need a pair!  Y'all should definitely check out their website!!

These are my fave and I'm pretty sure the ones Kippy has-this won't be the first time we've copied each other!  Mama Jill swears we are twins separated at birth...

This might be one of mama Jill's Christmas presents-she does love a good robe!
