Sweet Friday

In honor of my trip to Austin tomorrow, here is Jamestown Revival's, "California."  They are a band that started in Austin and their sound is amazing.  They recorded their whole album in an old cabin to keep the sound authentic and maintain the integrity of the instruments, great band and great album!!!  I hope everyone has a great weekend, hopefully I'll have fun stories from heading further South to Austin, Texas this weekend!  Cheers Y'all!

Austin

I'm flying to Austin tomorrow to meet up with two of my dear friends and sorority sisters.  We try to plan trips to meet up every couple of months and are way over due with all the holidays-time to catch up and hit the town hard!  I'm hoping to meet a couple of cowboys-hence the pic above, although multiple people have told me how metro Austin is, here's hoping y'all!  I personally am just excited to catch up with friends and have a good ol' time, plus who doesn't love Texas?!?!?  There is just something about Texas that makes me swoon, I don't know if it's all the trucks, rodeos, bars or testosterone, but it sure is awesome! I hope everyone is having a great week!

Happy First Weekend of Spring

YAY-it's finally here, the first weekend of Spring!!!  I'm celebrating by hitting some back roads, and driving to the beach for the weekend.  I know that my fave country songs will be blasting all the way down and especially Justin Moore's, "Lettin' the Night Roll."  Such a great song-love his voice and if you ever get to see him in concert, do it-he is absolutely fabulous!!!  Have a wonderful weekend!!

My Two New Besties

Via Neiman Marcus

Via Neiman Marcus

I love Kate Somerville products, but after a Kate Somerville facial at Neiman Marcus last Saturday I am OBSESSED with the above two products.  I continue to have annoying hormonal acne, just once a month that annoys me to no end!!  I mean I'm in my late 20's (ruh ro....dirty thirty is fast approaching) I thought by now I would have just a fabulously glowing face all day, every day....not so much!  Who knew that maintaining a sparkly face would be so much work and so expensive!  But, back to my new best friend the Hydra Clear Hydrating Acne Gel, it is amazing and has cleared away my hormonal breakout that was just beginning on Saturday.  I used it two times a day at first and now use it every other night before I moisturize.  It truly works and if you don't believe me, go to Neiman Marcus or Nordstrom and ask for a sample-one of the best things about Kate Somerville is the ability to try things through samples, plus they are perfect when you are traveling.  My other new bestie is the Replenishing toner.  I usually don't use a toner, but this helps with moisturizing your face and smells amazing like oranges.  I use this nightly before lathering up with all my other potions.....it takes a village to keep this youthful glow going!  Y'all should definitely try out my new besties!

Patriot Tour

Friday night, I had the honor of listening to some of the bravest, most patriotic people who are mostly navy seals share their stories by going to the Patriot Tour.  I was most excited to hear Marcus Luttrell speak, after reading his books and seeing the movie, "Lone Survivor" I knew he had a phenomenal, heart-breaking story to share.  One of the other speakers was Taya Kyle, her husband was Chris Kyle one of the Navy Seal's most lethal snipers who was murdered last year.  Hearing her story and the message that everything in our lives has a ripple effect was incredibly moving, humbling and empowering.  If any of you have the opportunity to see this amazing, strong group of people speak, I urge you to take the opportunity!

Last Wednesday some of my friends along with lots of glamorous women and a couple of brave men headed to NODA for Front Row Charlotte-a fashion show put on by boutiques around Charlotte and benefiting a great cause, Baby Bundles.  It was a great night with cocktails, cupcakes, fashion and a step and repeat.  I will definitely be attending again next year!!  Cheers to fashion and a great cause!!

Happy Weekend

So excited for this weekend-ready for a chill weekend after this gloomy, rainy week!  Praying for some sunshine and warmer temps.  I will admit I was a little skeptical about Lorde, but after listening to her album, I am totally hooked and a huge fan!!  Enjoy Lorde's, "Team" and have a smashingly fabulous weekend!!

Oscar Style Winners

Lupita Nyong'o in Prada

Cate Blanchett in Giorgio Armani

Kate Hudson in Atelier Versace

Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen

Jennifer Garner in Oscar de la Renta
The Oscars are always so much fun to watch, but my main goal in watching is to see what everyone is wearing!  Men seem to be going back to the white dinner jacket, hello Mathew McConaughey!  Above are my favorite dressed ladies, to me Kate Hudson was the shining star of the night-that dress is drop dead gorgeous with the removable bolero.  The color looks great with her skin tone and the dress is simply stunning!  I'm also extremely impressed with Jennifer Garner, she stepped out of her box and wowed in a fringe happy Oscar de la Renta with glamorous old-hollywood hair!!!
